This is a very chunky pendant, weighing a solid 7.7gm of 925 sterling silver. Although it matches the cufflinks, it is entirely suitable for women too - in fact, I loved the design so much, I made one for myself!   Art Deco is my passion within design and the very best examples of architecture from this period can be found in Miami. The mirrors hanging on the walls of these buildings are the inspiration behind this. Set on the silver disc is a centre piece of oval, with two square bars either side.   Once it has been finished and hand polished to a satin finish (rather than a high shine), the central area is oxidised.  Oxidisation is a natural process whereby silver will go black as it mixes with the air and moisture over a period of time (unless it is polished out of course!).  The process can be replicated to a much greater degree to create a high contrast to the silver visible.
