Handmade Silver Cuff Bracelet |
| This cuff bracelet is handmade using solid sterling silver sheet with a thickness of 0.9mm sheet. Six inches of silver is shaped and made into a cuff bracelet. The bracelet is then hammered using an unusual technique. Silversmiths usually hammer metal on metal to produce the hammered effect which is normally seen on silver. Instead a different procedure is used which ensures that the silver is not stretched or mishapen in any other way excluding the hammering. This ensures that the depth of the silver remains the same throughout the bracelet. It does however, take a lot longer to carry out this different procedure - but the results are most definitely worth it! Once the hammering has been carried out, a setting is handmade for the round amber gemstone and soldered to the cuff bracelet. The pattern to the edge of rim of the bracelet is achieved by filing each shape individually using a round needle file. Because the back is open, the bracelet will fit most sized wrists. Silver is a malleable metal (easy to shape). Gently prize apart by using equal strength on both edges or close together by the same method if required.
